South Dallas Government Center and Dallas County Sheriff's Academy { 59 images } Created 29 Apr 2021

KAI provided design, site planning and served as the Architect of Record for the South Dallas Government Center.

The new, ground-up $22 million, 73,000 SF two-story structure has merged many facilities under one roof, including the County Tax Office, Veteran’s Affairs, County Constable, Sheriff’s Traffic Division, Sheriff’s Dispatch, Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, and two Justice of the Peace Courts. Public space has been designated for art integration and the site will also serve as a precinct for local and national elections. The Sheriff Dispatch area has been designed as a storm shelter that can withstand winds up to 200 miles per hour and will serve as a back-up dispatch center for both the City of Dallas and City of Lancaster. The facility is designed to achieve a LEED v4 Silver Certification.
