St. Ann’s Catholic Church Youth Activity Center in Midland, Texas was designed by Parkhill and built by Teinert Construction. The new building serves as a place for the young people at St. Ann’s to socialize, exercise and study.
The 21,000-square-foot center includes a gymnasium with walking track, commercial kitchen, showers, offices and classrooms. There is also a central hang-out space where teens have couches and other places to gather and play ping pong, pool, air hockey and foosball.
The exterior of the building has a a modern sleek look with colored wall tiles from Swisspearl, a slat-covered seating area, terraced patio, seating walls, basketball court, and a large lawn. The design is meant to encourage congregating, interacting, and creating community.
